Say hello to Ace! This little man came to us as an owner surrender from a shelter in NC. Although his former owner told the shelter he was 16, our vet, and we, believe him to be around 10-12. Around the house, he is a little shadow. He will happily keep tabs on what you're doing and if you are not available to sit with, he will settle on his bed. He loves burrowing under blankets. He wakes up happy and ping-pongs around the house all day to keep an eye on us and wait for a lap to become available. He is a chow hound and loves to eat. He absolutely LOVES to go on walks and will need a home that will continue that for him as it's one of his favorite things. He is house trained, but being a senior boy, he also likes to make his mark in the house, so he wears a belly band inside. While he gets along swimmingly with the four cats and two small dogs in his foster home, he does not really know how to play. He will try, though. Ace gets excited and will "nibble" on you in a playful way, sometimes a little too excitedly! And he is not shy about asking for attention. He will come to you and nudge your arm or hand to pet him. If you don't pet him after he tries, he will ultimately settle down on his own. Health-wise, he is a sturdy little 10 lb ball of joy. He does have dry eye for which he gets drops 2-3 times a day, which will need to be continued for life, and he also has entropia on one eye (his eyelid on one eye rolls inward) which has caused corneal scarring and affected his vision in that eye. He doesn't mind his eye drops at all, and none of this slows him down! Ace's ideal home is one where someone is home most of the day and will give him the attention and doting he needs and deserves. His ideal companion is an adult or two (sorry, no young kids due to his size and age) who like to go on walks and are eager to provide a warm lap for him to cuddle up on (frequently). Ace would do well with another chill dog or cat, provided he still gets enough attention and walks. Did we mention that he LOVES to go on walks??
